Venice I - Venice

Friday, September 12, 2014

We took advantage of our Eurail and got on a 1st Class train to Venice. What a difference! It's good we started in Italy because the trains everywhere are much nicer so far!

We were greeted with rain in Venice which was so wonderful! We got to use our umbrellas and the weather was cool and perfect. Francesca met us near the train station with her little dog (no leash) and brought us to our AIRBNB.

Look what I found!

 hehe love you Julia!

Our AIRBNB. So clean and homey!

Our living room!

Hello Venice!

Crazy mosquito bites (pretty sure they attacked me in Florence the night before). Yikes.

Yup...then we wandered around and got lost. We'd be walking and soon run into a dead end. This happened a lot.  We eventually came across some fun sites :)

Accademia Bridge

Gymnastics in Venice!

Time to eat pizza and feed the birds!

Picnic dinner next to a canal!

Crazy food and masks

Marzipan!

Our 1st crepe in Europe! Chocolate banana! So tasty!

GONDOLAS!

There are vampires in St. Mark's Square...beware

We hunted for a WC and followed the signs which led us to one that was closed. I had to go sooooo bad! We ended up buying gelato on the main square in order to use the WC that was upstairs in the restaurant. It's quite a chore to find a one in Europe so anytime you see one...it's probably smart to use it.
