Took the 7:15am train to Florence!

FLORENCE SHENANIGANS...

Walked from the train station to our AIRBNB then realized we needed reservations for our train the next day.

Walked back to the train station.

It took a while to figure out where to get the reserved tickets and I talked to a few Italian men before getting the correct information. We got in line and were all set to buy our tickets! Got to the ticket booth and discovered we needed our Eurail Pass info, which of course was back at the apartment.

We walked back to our apartment, got the Eurail Pass, and walked back to the train station again to buy our tickets to Venice.

Finally it was time to begin our Florence adventure!

We started out at Mercato Centrale and San Lorenzo Market where we looked for a panini with lampredotto (a famous  and delicious flourentine street food). No luck though :(

Duomo (cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore)

Giotto's Campanile (bell tower)

 David's twin brother...(he's free!)

Stopped for some gelato at Gelateria Carrozze then walked across the Ponte Vecchio – Florence’s most famous bridge lined with shops.

Pizza break! A few blogs I read recommended this place and we would agree that it's delicious! Somehow I've survived with ranch so far...don't ask me how!!

Piazzale Michelangelo - my favorite place in Florence! We walked up a huge hill and enjoyed the beautiful view! An Italian man sang romantic songs on the steps for a few hours while we watched the sunset. After searching all day for the special Florentine panini...I finally found it right before we walked the hill to the Piazzale Michelangelo! Yippee!!!

Cody snuck me a kiss :)

Then I got him back!

Our AIRBNB....definitely not our favorite one...the bathroom was not so clean so it didn't get a picture.

Blogging on the train on the way to Venice!
